Relationships, choices, and communication don’t just happen; they are learned. In partnership with the REALife program, which has served thousands of teens and young adults in New Jersey, Lighthouse offers structured, age-appropriate lessons around:
- Recognizing healthy vs. unhealthy relationships (honesty, trust, accountability, communication)
- Setting and maintaining personal boundaries in friendships, dating, and serious relationships
- Understanding how sexuality, attraction, and emotion connect in relationships, and how choices today can impact your future goals
- Building skills in communication, conflict resolution, and respectful decision-making with a partner or within a family
- Managing everyday life skills, such as goal-setting, budgeting, time-management, and aligning choices with your values
- Recognizing and avoiding high-risk behaviors related to early sexual activity, STDs, unexpected pregnancy, drugs, or alcohol
What It Looks Like at Lighthouse
When you participate in our program, you’ll meet one-on-one or in small groups with a trained mentor who helps you personalize the lessons and apply them to your unique situation.

You’ll also be able to bring a partner to some sessions if you’d like to grow together, or explore individual growth if you’re working through your own goals.
